Thiashen joined Remote Exploration Services in 2021 as a Junior Geophysicist.

Having completed his B.Sc. in Geology and Physics (2018) followed by a B.Sc. Honours in Geophysics (2019) at the University of the Witwatersrand, he later obtained his M.Sc. in Geophysics which focused on the subsurface mapping of the Far Western Limb of the Bushveld Complex using integrated geophysical and geochemical techniques.

Thiashen has worked in Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Egypt, Zambia and throughout South Africa conducting Audio-Magnetotelluric, Gravity, Induced Polarisation, Magnetics and Loupe Time-Domain Electromagnetic and DGPS surveys. His skills extend to survey planning, geophysical data processing, interpretation and presentation.
